I had a similar problem and unchecking the rotational 360 rollover in the general configuration in Mach3 got around the problem.
Hi All
Hopefully started thread ok.
I was trying to output 1st spur gear from GEAROTIC on 4th axis to MACH3.
1. Mach3 only shows a flat "rack" rather then full gear (yes license ok all 2000 lines in)
2. The blank is prepared to Gear diameter
3. Tool 3mm is set off on top and full out 3 mm of the blank (rotary table placed on the right of table facing left. so (facing --) selected. Parallel x selected.
Result: The tool seems to cut a spiral in the blank and almost 1 complete 1 rev in between each cut rather then back and forward motion with partial rotation of the 4th axis.
In a few words it seems just to shred the blank to pieces. Surely it's something silly...any suggestions...more than welcome
thanks a lot in advance
Tom

Thanks again for usefully replying to the post.
I also changed the direction of A axis which I thought was running right but it..wasn't.
So in brief:
In config general deselect rotational roll over (which in some operations needs to be on for other cutting)
Change the A axis rotation in config / ... / a axis active low (deselected)
Now runs well, cut on aluminum is a bit rough I guess need to play with feeding rates / rpm etc
Thanks again

For situations like that, I often create a new profile, so that old programs don't get broken.
I have one for 4th axis, and for Endmill grinding grinding.
Different jobs need the 360 bit ticked and others don't.
Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
Hi Neil,
With the list of settings getting longer and longer yours, sounds like a sensible approach.
cheers
