Mach3 and G-Rex motor tuning Math help Please

hi this question is possably more for the mach3 G-Rex forum at artsoft
but there site is down now

I am on page 3 of the G320_REV-4_MANUAL.pdf
at the motor tuning section
I believe I need to put some information into Mach3
and flash it to the Grex but could really use a little help with the math

I have found you have to read a couple pdfs at once to get the grex figured out feel free to correct me if I am wrong

if you read this whole thing you will see below part of the setup guide ( g100setupguide.pdf )
my questions pertain to that

1. where he says pulses I take this to mean the encoder count ? mine would be 500

2. where he divides by 1.8 I am using 72 volt servos
so does this stay 360? and I believe the micro stepping is out

3. for me to start I think 30 inches a minute would be good

so here is what I have I believe this is enough information to figure it out.

if you would like to help me and need any more info I will definitely get it
and I may just need to get close so I can put something in that will get me started.

allot of this was salvaged so I don't have all the information
I should

X. is 84 mm outside the pinions connected to 50 to 1
gear reduction then the motor and the 500 count encoder

Y. is a ball screw when I turn it from the end 3 turns it moves 24 mm
then there is a 10 to 1 reduction on it

Z. is 10 mm ball screw with 30 to 1 reduction
the gear box was much less then the brake they wanted 400 bucks and it works just as well and I did not have to wire it

these all have the same motors and 500 count encoders
seriously I don't know where to start
figuring this out any help would make me happy
thanks

below is out of the g100setup guide page 31

Mine is in inches. 1 inch = 10,000 pulses on mine. This is
how I came up with the number. My steppers have 200 pulses per revolution. ( 360 degrees
divided by 1.8 degrees = 200 ) Micro stepping = 10. So 200 X 10=2,000 Motor to screw gearing is
1-1. So 2,000 X 1=2,000 Screw lead is .200 of an inch. My screw will have to turn 5 rounds to
move the nut 1". 1.0 divided by 0.200=5. So 2,000 X 5=10,000
Now that we know our Steps per, we can do the math to find out what frequency range we will
need to set the G100 to. I want to be able to travel at 100 IPM (inches per minute). Steps per =
10,000 * 100 (IPM)= 1,000,000/ 60 (Seconds in a minute)= 16,666 / 1,000 = 16.666 KHz. This
means that I will need to set the G100 to the next higher Maximum Frequency. 32 KHz is good
for this set up. If I needed a pulse rate of exactly 32 KHz I would choose the 65 KHz mode.
In the 2 pictures below, you see that I have selected an axis and chosen a Maximum
Frequency. At this point, I need to flash the G100. This has to be done for each axis on your
machine. If you have a 4 axis machine, you will need to do this 4 times

Got it guy on the other forum helped me work it out

here is a copy of part of the email
Z should be around 600 steps per. This is per milimeter. 30 IPM = 762mm per minute. This is 7,620 pulses per second or 7.62KHz
Y should be around 2500 steps per. This is per millimeter. 30 IPM = 762mm per minute. This is 31,750 pulses per second or 31.75 KHz
X should be around 378.940 steps per. This is per millimeter. 30 IPM = 762mm per minute. This is 4,812.538 pulses per second or 4.812 KHz.

Try it all slow, if these are any where close to right, you could try to go the settings page in Mach, just above the red stop button you will see a set steps per unit button. It should help you dial it in.

if he showed his work it might help some people setting up servos but I am not going to bug him about it
just glad for the help I needed
