Hi, I am working toward figuring out the wiring to my new Grex, and am looking for some input on the wiring of its power. The unit came with a 12vdc wall adapter, but also has power terminals for 24vdc and 5vdc. My question is whether all of these need to be provided, or can a 24vdc regulated power supply be used at the terminals in place of the wall adapter? Also, what of the 5vdc terminals. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

| Take what I say with caution because I bought the G101 (Stripped down version). In that version I supply the 5V for the GRex electronics and 5-24V for the outputs (I use 12V relays so I supply 12V). From the documentation it appears that the G100 has an internal regulator to supply the 5V. If you connect a multimeter on the 5-24V out you should get 0V with the supplied adapter. You will need to supply additional power for the digital outs via the 5-24V. (max 100ma) So, yes you still need to use the supplied 12V adapter no matter what. |
