My G100 works fine using just the wall adapter. I'm not using any of the voltage connections on the wiring blocks.
Hi,
I am working toward figuring out the wiring to my new Grex, and am looking for some input on the wiring of its power.
The unit came with a 12vdc wall adapter, but also has power terminals for 24vdc and 5vdc.
My question is whether all of these need to be provided, or can a 24vdc regulated power supply be used at the terminals in place of the wall adapter? Also, what of the 5vdc terminals.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

The 24V is actually for a 5V to 24V supply. This is used for the digital outputs. Powering relays etc.
Take what I say with caution because I bought the G101 (Stripped down version). In that version I supply the 5V for the GRex electronics and 5-24V for the outputs (I use 12V relays so I supply 12V).
From the documentation it appears that the G100 has an internal regulator to supply the 5V. If you connect a multimeter on the 5-24V out you should get 0V with the supplied adapter. You will need to supply additional power for the digital outs via the 5-24V. (max 100ma)
So, yes you still need to use the supplied 12V adapter no matter what.
