| Having problems with g76 on a 21i-tb control. The problem is with either the variables with the first or second line. In particular the Q and R on the first. Then the R, P, and Q on the second line. Can anyone explain how to use these variables to cut an Acme 1/2-10 Acme thread? |

Great information. Thanks, the legend with the information about the variables and the placement of numbers with out decimals was exactly what I needed. My Fanuc manual didn't have that information available near or around the section on the G-76. Can you tell me where is that information located in the Fanuc Manual? Also, do you have anything like this on the G83? I'm experiencing some similar problems with a G82 on the same control and the same lathe. I understand some lathe controls don't recognize the G-82, and have been alarming out with either an: "Illegal use of decimal" or "Invalad G-code" Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

| That .pdf file didn't come from Fanuc, it came from Daewoo/Doosan. G82 is NOT supported on the 21i-TB control. If the option is turned on, you can use G83 for drilling (G84 for tapping and G85 for boring) instead. You mentioned 2 alarms. I assume the "Invalid G-Code" occurs when you try to use G82. If you get the "Illegal use of decimal" with G83 then the option is turned on, you've got a problem with format. G00 X0 Z0.1 (RAPID TO CLEARANCE POINT) G83 Z-1.5 R0 F0.015 (DRILL 1.5 DEEP) G80 M09 If desired, you can add a dwell (P1000 for 1 second, IIRC) or a peck (Q1000) for 0.10 peck depth in the block with G83. Let me know what you find. |
