Program Zero

Hello every body

Please help me with this problem. Find location to touch off tools

Machine center

I do not know where to touch off the tools in "Z"( the guy is on vacation).
The fixture offset (G54) has a value of Z0.0. Any trick out there to find out where to touch off tools on "Z". I know it will be a negative number but....no idea where to start.

Any ideas???

Regards

Thank you in advance

This question is a little vague. Read the program and look at the print for that operation. This will give you an idea where to touch off the tools.

Also, what Machine Control does this Machining Center have?

And when you say Machining Center, I assume you mean a Mill, is this correct?

Are there other tools that run in the program that are still set? Then, you could take one of those tools and in MDI, command it to go to G54Z0 with its height offset and see where it ends up (or rather, go to say G54Z2. or something for safety).

Sure would help to have set up sheets wouldn't it??

Thank you for your inputs. Yes I fallow your advice. I set up an offset of
(H) -5.000 in the High of the tool.
Then I MDI: G54Z2.0, ended it up 2 inches above one of the corners of the fixture. My PRZ was 2 inches under.

Thank you, Like always this is the spot to find answers/ideas.

Have a great weekend.

Not quite what I meant but it got you where you needed all the same. Just be careful doing that and be sure it's a tool that the program uses at that offset...
