hello, got our first mill, im a lathe guy, and i am trying to learn some basic programming. I have a part that is out of .3125" wide x 1.0" tall stock and i have to mill the end of it and put .05" x 45 degree chamfers on each side on the entire 1 inch depth. i am hanging out of the right side of the vise. i am going to call the edge x 0. also. i am using a 3/8" endmill. and if it is easy to explain can you walk me thru figuring out the start and endpoints. ------\ ^ . .312 | ------/ v thanks phil Last edited by prupp; 03-24-2009 at 08:51 PM. |

| Hi prupp Yes a lot of people would know how to do this but it takes time Here is a txt file that you can run that will do the job Put the piece in the vice with .500 hanging out of the vice right hand side The Y0 is the back of the part the X0 is the end of the part Tool Z0 Tool at the top of part RUN in SINGLE BLOCK to TEST with the .375 End Mill everything should clear There are other ways to do this but this is what you wanted I also don't know how you want the 45deg this is .050 from the point in I can change it if you need to
