Hey guys, I have been looking for a sample code to test my relay control to start/stop my router. I have a hobbycnc pro board running mach 3. Could someone give me an example code. Thanks Steve |

| The dwell time is automatically added. See the spindle tab in the ports and pins screen. In that same screen, you assign the output pins so that M3 and M5 will work correctly.

| Hey Guy, Me again. I am havinga heck of a time trying to figure out the mach3 spindle setup. This is a porter cable router and a solid state relay. I have the relay connected to pin 15 and gnd. I can not figure out how to set up mach 3 to start and stop my router. Can anyone give me some step by step instructions. Example; ports and pins, Steps and directions and so on. Thanks Again Steve |

| Steve, The Relay Control Output needs to be configured See Relay.JPG The Output Signal need to be set as well. The output can not be on pin 15 Use pin 17 See Output.JPG Jeff...

| Use the right pins as Jeff stated. Also check these pins to see if you have enough voltage to control the relay. It should say what the control voltage range is on the relay. You may not be getting enough from the pins depending on the computer. I run my router with an IBM laptop. I too use a SSR. I didn't have enough voltage coming through the PPort. I needed a BOB hat provided 5 VDC. I used a C10 from CNC4PC. Nice little inexpensive BOB's. Then I used pin 17 and the other side was 5VDC rather than ground. Works great for me.

| I didn't need any resistors in mine, but each control panel and computer system can be different. You would likely need resistors if you have a lot of electrical noise. On this system, I use a Lab power supply. My Gecko 203V's, BOB and relay are all mounted in a steel toolbox. Separating things can reduce the chance of inducing noise. Not always needed though.
