maybe some one can help I am trying to do a radius on the inside of a part .250 raduis ok here it goes my diameter is 10 inches my part is 2 inches deep and I am using a .030 raduis tip. I dont know how to compansate for the raduis can some one explain how I can do this so far this is what I got G00 X10.0 Z.010 G01 X10.0 Z-1.78 G02 X9.56 Z-2.00 R.235 G01 X5.00 Z -2.0 G00 X5.00 Z1.00 these is just something i think will work but i am not sure . i forgot to mention the tool holder is on the left side just like a convention lathe. |

| I am assuming this is a boring operation and you are using diameter programming. Just remember that if you don't use tool comp then you have to program the center of the .03 tool tip. So you have to minus .06 from your X axis diameter commands and plus .03 from your Z axis length commands. You have to minus .03 from your .25 corner radius. I would program this path as follows: G00 X9.940 Z.040 G01 X9.940 Z-1.750 F.006 G02 X9.500 Z-1.970 R.220 G01 X4.940 Z-1.970 G00 X4.940 Z1.000 |

| On a conventional lathe it would be programmed this way for .03R insert. G00X10.Z.5 Z.01 G01Z-1.78 G03X9.56Z-2.R.22 G01X5. G00Z1. instead of G00 X10.0 Z.010 G01 X10.0 Z-1.78 G02 X9.56 Z-2.00 R.235 G01 X5.00 Z -2.0 G00 X5.00 Z1.00 Your R-value is programmed for a .015R insert. The G2 will be G3 on any of the lathes we have. |
