    thread burr

    we are working with aluminium 6075
    while doing the threading in fanuc we are having burr at the thread starting
    can any body help me in solving this

    We usually re-run our finish turn after the threader,(just over the threads) and down the thread relief behind the last thread, then jump up over the top of the threads and back to the front of the threads and cut down the front of the threads following the same path but in the opposite direction (towards the face of the part).Hope this helps.

    you can turn the part after threading, than thread again. hope to solve it

    Use a ground turning insert. Re-cut chamfer from the thread top towards the thread root (after threading). Won't be a need for re-thread on that material.

    I'm assuming your making a 45 deg chamfer at the beginning of the threads at the actual thread lead.. change to a 60 deg still same size as the lead . should eliminate your problem

    ever notice how there are soo many different ways to get the same result? I do agree with the 60 deg. response, as this will allow more angle to be present on the thread major surface...but I will say that we have not had any problems with the 45 deg. approach, so long as the chamfered area is at least .06" wide. JFWIW.
