Hi, What would a simple thread mill program look like. I can't get anything to run. The first thread looks fine, but on the second thread, the Z won't advance. I have tried many variations, but can not get a second thread. Thanks Last edited by Captain Midnigh; 07-26-2008 at 04:29 PM. |

| Are you in incremental? Otherwise, it's sitting there because it's already where you told it to go. BTW, it's working one pass so I'm confused, but I thought you would use R or I and K in G2. Also, does L2 work in this situation? I've used L2 or more in canned cycles and sub calls but not in a feed move line. Interesting. I'll have to try it. |

| I am in incremental. It makes one thread and then it makes a circle. I did use R and I. I don't know what K is. It won't cut threads in a in a sub either. What would a simple thread mill program look like, to cut 6 continuos threads? |

| Here's one for 1/2"-20 thread: N33 (3/8-20 MULTI POINT THREAD MILL) T33 M06 G00 G54 X0 Y0 S2353 M03 G43 Z.1 H33 M08 T01 G01 Z-.5063 F12. X.0625 Z-.5 F6. G03 Z-.45 I-.0625 J0 G03 Z-.4 I-.0625 J0 G00 X0 Y0 Z1. M09 M05 G53 Y0 Z0 M30 % It's not doing what I like by arcing into the cut but it's a simple one that works (I hope). The K we discussed earlier would be the location of the center of the arc in Z, I is in X, and J in Y. R is used in place of them. From what I think I know, anyway. There are a lot more Knowledgable people here who can correct me if I'm wrong. - just add more G03 lines for more threads or try your L6 after going incremental (I still haven't looked into that, seems like it would work though) Last edited by extanker59; 07-28-2008 at 07:15 AM. Reason: clarify threading length |
