Hello.. My friened and I have built a standard 3 axis mill. We used animatics motors and gen cnc for the cam software.. Our design program provides G-code in MM per Minute.. The machine has 20" per sec capabilities however after the initial tool path pass the machine slams back and fourth when changing direction and eventually will time out the motors.. Is their such thing as a smoothing function or code we can embed in our g-code? The redirection movement is small and we tried to manually ramp up and down the F commands but it appears their is not enough code in the thread to allow the drives to react.. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.... ? |

| Sounds more like a servo PID tuning problem. G-Code only tells it where to go and how to get there. The slamming sound like overshoot because the servos are lagging behind the command position, then overshoots. A bit like a car suspension with the shock absorbers removed of faulted. |
