Use G92 in MDI.

If you pickup center of a hole and that will be zero in MDI enter

G92X0Y0

If you edge find (.200 edge finder) the left side of a piece in X use

G92X-.1

hope that helps! I don't have an 850 controller, but I do have a program manual here. Also I think it works the same as the A2100 controllers.

Acramatic

I used to do some programming on CNC, so i am very rusty. Do you have any sample peck drill NC programs you could let me see. I have a manual, but it is written for the experienced programmer. I just need a sample to get me started. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
dg

Our Cincinnati machines here at work all have the A2100 controller.
I think the programs are similar, but try this stuff at your own risk. Be careful!

This will drill 2 holeS 1" apart starting at X2Y2.

:G0G90 <---RAPID MODE ABSOLUTE
M6T1 <---- TOOL CHANGE TOOL 1
(MSG, SPOT DRILL) <--- MESSAGE BLOCK DONT KNOW IF 850 CAN USE THESE
S600M3 <---SPINDLE CLOCKWISE 600 RPM
GOX2Y2Z3 <--- RAPID TO POSITION
M8 <--- COOLANT ON
G81Z-.25R0W.1F2.5 <--- DRILL FEED IN RAPID OUT .25 DEEP FROM R PLANE OF 0 (Z ZERO) RETRACT Z .1 FEED IS 2.5 IPM
X3W.1 <--- NEXT HOLE RETARCT Z.1
G0G90 <--- CANCEL DRILL CYCLE RAPID MODE ABSOLUTE
M1 <--- OPTIONAL STOP
M2 <---END PROGRAM

If you want to peck drill say 1/2 deep change the G81 line above to:

G83Z-.5R0W.1F2.5K.1J13

G83 is peck cycle K is distance to peck J13 is peck full out. Change to J11 for chip breaker.

Let me know if it helps or if you need anything else.

Spindle Drive Fault

I came in this morning to a Spindle Drive Fault on our Cincinnati Milacron. When I try to load a tool, it faults out and spindle turns slow. Any ideas. I know what the book says to do, and that's call a service rep. Is there a way to reset spindle drive?

Thanks,
Dg

We have seen drive faults here from things liek power drops or even crashes.
Normaly we can shut the machines down, including the breaker to the machine, wait a few minutes and power everthing back up.
If the machine aligns properly it should be OK.

I have never seen a machine based on the 850 controller. On ours
the particular servo drive controller in question usualy displays an error code when there is a problem
