So today at work i was cutting an M24 thread got everything setup and wrote a program. Ran the first part and threads were short by .5000?? checked my program it was ok?? program was like this for thread N8T0808(M24-3 THREAD) G97S1000 G0G54G99X0.975Z0.2M8 M24 G92X0.929Z-2.3F0.1181 X0.909 X0.884 X0.878 X0.863 X0.848 X0.833 X0.813 X0.808 X0.803 X0.8 G0Z0.2M9 G28U0W0T0M5 M30 To Make the Part write I changed to this: N8T0808(M24-3 THREAD) G97S1000 G0G54G99X0.975Z0.2M8 M24 G76X0.8Z-2.3R0P0663Q10F0.1181 G0Z0.2M9 G28U0W0T0M5 M30 Mori had no answer for my problem Does anyone? I Like G92 more then G76 and have used it many times on this machine to thread its alot faster then G76? Fanuc 16TT control |

| i have always had better tool life using G92 over G76 with G92 you are not stuck with just a depth of cut it can change from one pass to the next if you are running high production simple programing is not always the fastest way Togo |
