Threading problem on Mori seiki zl-15smc

So today at work i was cutting an M24 thread

got everything setup and wrote a program. Ran the first part and threads were short by .5000?? checked my program it was ok??

program was like this for thread

N8T0808(M24-3 THREAD)
G97S1000
G0G54G99X0.975Z0.2M8
M24
G92X0.929Z-2.3F0.1181
X0.909
X0.884
X0.878
X0.863
X0.848
X0.833
X0.813
X0.808
X0.803
X0.8
G0Z0.2M9
G28U0W0T0M5
M30

To Make the Part write I changed to this:

N8T0808(M24-3 THREAD)
G97S1000
G0G54G99X0.975Z0.2M8
M24
G76X0.8Z-2.3R0P0663Q10F0.1181
G0Z0.2M9
G28U0W0T0M5
M30

Mori had no answer for my problem

Does anyone?

I Like G92 more then G76 and have used it many times on this machine to thread its alot faster then G76?

PS...

Dryrun, how do you make uot G92 is quicker than G76 ??

with 76 there are less programming lines and you can set the cycle to make 2 or 3 passes

i have always had better tool life using G92 over G76

with G92 you are not stuck with just a depth of cut
it can change from one pass to the next

if you are running high production simple programing is not always the fastest way Togo
