I am using Mach3. The post-processesor Inserts a G49 ( Cancel tool length offset) at the beggining of the G-code. I manually change tools It seems strange that it gets canceled and is not re-instated (G43)anywhere. Can someome tell me how Tool length offset this (G49&G43)is dealt with normally? |

You must give the g43? at m6t? point in your program. As an example with EMC from which Mach is copied with a manual change machine: m1 (pause machine) m6t6 (1/2 CEM on my machine) g43h6 (offset length of 1/2 CEM) ## # (G codes) # # g49 (cancels tool length compensation) |

| post processors can be set-up to cancel or preset modals. can cycles, cutter comp, abs or inc postioning ect, ect. i personally dont use too many of these features as we are a small shop and we have just a couple foks that get into the programs. if i were in a very large shop i might use the features to preset the machine just so i know my programs will run correctly from the start. you never know what the last guy or his program might have left in the machine as far as modals or cycles that may give you headaches. |
