Hi, I had a G-code path written for my project my Ger21's briljant tool, but I cannot get it into propper G4x mode to ofset the tool. The problem is in my computer, by the way. Now I subsituted all G1s for G42s, so the tool stays to the right of the path. And I added a D12.7 (Imperial tool in metric use) in the first G42 line. Will the system remember the D for all lines to come? And the project also has a few circle parts in it, G2s and G3s. Is there a G4x for that as well? I searched but couldn't find. And again, will it remember it's D after changing form G42 to G4x (circlepart) and back again? Thanks, Hugo |

| With Mach3, you call a tool number with D and it uses the diameter in the tool table for that particular tool. D1 for tool #1. You can also use PX.XX where P is the tool radius. Proper use of G41/G42 is to call it once to offset the tool, it then stays active until it sees a G40 to turn it off. The diameter stays active until the G40 is called. It may actually remain active unless it gets changed by another G42 call. Here's a sample: G0 X0.0000 Y0.0000 Z0.1250 G1 X0.0000 Y0.0000 Z-0.2500 F50 G42P0.25 G1 X1.0000 Y0.0000 Z-0.2500 F150 G1 X3.0000 Y0.0000 Z-0.2500 G3 X4.0000 Y1.0000 Z-0.2500 I0.0000 J1.0000 G1 X4.0000 Y1.0000 Z-0.2500 G2 X5.0000 Y2.0000 Z-0.2500 I1.0000 J0.0000 G1 X6.0000 Y2.0000 Z-0.2500 G2 X7.0000 Y1.0000 Z-0.2500 I0.0000 J-1.0000 G1 X7.0000 Y1.0000 Z-0.2500 G3 X8.0000 Y0.0000 Z-0.2500 I1.0000 J0.0000 G1 X10.0000 Y0.0000 Z-0.2500 G40 G1 X11.0000 Y0.0000 Z-0.2500 G0 X11.0000 Y0.0000 Z0.1250
