Help! After a few passes the z axis rises when it shouldn’t and it is a real pain. It seems to do it regularly after about 5 or 6 mm then up she goes again. Sometimes a little, maybe 1 mm or sometimes a lot, 5 to 10 mm. I've replaced the worm gear etc. so I am quite sure it is not a mechanical problem. The g code post is in multicam cnc and the files are quite large. I am cutting wax with a .003 bit from Bits & Bits. I’ve got a used cnc express mill from Microkinetics. The motion controller is OptiStep Plus-PC™Motion Control Card For PC/AT, 1-4 axes See it here : http://www.microkinetics.com/optistep.htm and the drive rack is here http://www.microkinetics.com/pdfmanuals/DriveRack.pdf Has anybody ever encountered this problem before?
