This might not be the right forum, but I've got to start somewhere ![]() Here is some code used to control a laser cutting machine, does anyone recognise it? I'm being asked to 'reverse engineer' it into a DXF file. Before I delve too deeply I thought I'd see if anyone knew what it was and if anything already existed to do the job. Hoping someone can help Peter |

| Looks like what I've hear called "ESSI" format..used by some lasers, plasma, and cutting maghines...

| You could be right, if ESSI you might get info on the Burny site, they used it as an option. Al.

| I am not sure if you will get enough info from the Burny manual, I believe it is still available from the Burny site, It might be worth a shot. http://www.burny.com/burny_3.asp Al.

| Do you know what the part is supposed to look like or how the laser is moving with this program? I may be able to figure part of it out and draw a DXF file from the code. Independent CNC Home Page: http://www.ctcn.net/~3kings |

| Thanks, but there's not one file but a few thousand ![]() I've made some progress and have a VB program that currently reads the file(s) and writes a corresponding DXF file(s) for lines and circles. Now working on the arcs, but the DXF format for an arc is different from this code which complicates things a bit. We'll get there in the end. (maybe even be brave and process all the files in one hit ) |
