| I have a KIA SKT 15 LMS turning center w\ live tooling and a Fanuc oi TB controller. I got this part to quote and i'm wondering if my machine is capable. Can i put an indexable live tooling head @ 25 degrees to drill these holes (using an endmill)? How would I program the G83 / G87 canned cycle to feed in at that angle? Does anyone have exeperience doing this? Where should I look for a quality indexable live tooling head?...i know it's going to cost me a few bucks. Steve |

| Hi, metalman, I had a similar type of job to this, and had to drill some 1/16" holes at 25 deg to the surface face of a stainless steel disc. The job was manual drilling on a Burgomaster turret drill. I started the drilling by using a centre drill against a small block of steel clamped to the curved face, and just pecked away to get a starting dimple. The rest is plain drilling. The start MUST be truly centred or the drill will run off and break. I did quite a few dozen of these. What's your production run? Ian. |

| I checked out the KIA SKT 15 LMS and it doesn't offer B-axis feature, so I don't thing you can use G83-G87(it retract on feed in axis X or Z only, not on both axis silmutanous). But It can be done like you said use index live tool at 25DEG then manual program angle you want(note: G1 only G0 will rude the hole or crash).

| Steve, Try using a ball endmill to center the holes before drilling. |
