If you mean you lost all the parameters, those would have to come from the manufacturer of the machine, if you have them, what control does the machine have. If it's a fanuc type they can be loaded thru the rs-232 port. If you lost macro programs that do things like move the machine to tool change pos., pallet chg. or for tool measurment etc. you might have to write new ones.

I would need more info on this machine i.e. control type, machine manufacture etc. But as a guess I would say that someone somewere could retro fit this machine with some kind of new controls whether it's pc based or otherwise I'm sure it's possible. However if You mean running DNC (i.e., the method used when programs are so large that they won't fit in even the the largest of controls), no. The machine control still would need it's parameters etc. to even comunicate with another computer.

Well I'd say that unless you can find that exec. tape you mite be SOL. By the way, has it ever ran? How long have you had it? Did you have the tape once upon a time and lost it? Somtimes people "stash" the tape in the control cabinet or somthing??? Without that tape I would say if the machine is worth it you may want to consider a retro-fit control
