I don’t know much about G code programming (I start a class in April at my local community college). I recently installed new brushes in my servo motors. I would like to program the motor to turn one direction for 5 to 10 minutes, then 5 to 10 minutes the other direction to seat the brushes. The motor is not connected to anything, just mounted in a vise. I am using Mach 3 to drive the motor. Can a G code program do this and if so, what is it? Thanks Vince |

| If yoou only want to do one motor at a time, you could set it up as a spindle in Mach3. Then just start the spindle (M3 S??) and do a G1 X10 F0.1 To reverse the spindle, stop it with an M5, then start it CCW with A M4 Sxxx and do a G1 X0 F0.1

| I need to run it through the Gecko drive, so the need for an X move. I also want it to run at its max speed, to the brushes seat faster. To run it as a spindle start and stop I would have to add a realy, would I not? Does Mach 3 output step and direction for the spindle? Vince |

| The movement will stop but if you put a m30 at the end that’s the command for program stop it sound like you should do some reading before you do any real programming if your machine move at 300 imp and you want to run for 5min. you would move 1500" try this site for some programming info http://www.cncci.com |

| well that make a litle bit of sence now try S000 M3(spindle on cw) P5.(dwell 5 min,) M19(spindle orintate) S00 M4(spindle ccw) P5.(dwell 5. min) M30(end of program) if you change the P value the time will change |

| I don't think Mach3 supports M19. What does it do?

| M19 Is Just A Eia Code To Stop Spindle And Orintate AT THE ZERO POSTION Mostly Used For Tool Change or position boring bar, taps You Could Put A M5 In It's Place Last edited by lakeside; 03-24-2006 at 06:58 PM. |
