Hello, I am a Celtic wood carver and I use Mach 2 for roughing my wood projects on my cnc router. My latest project is a celtic knotwork wine rack. My cnc router currently roughs it in 2-1/2 dimensions and I then begin carving. I would like to have someone 3D solid model it and create g-code for it so I have to do less carving and finishing. You can see photos of a 3d finished one at http://www.celticity.com. I will email you the dxf file of the designed wine rack. Best Regards, Bernie Fay |

| Interesting work. I did not see the wind rack, but one solution (since you only want to rough it out in 3D), would be to take a picture of a model and convert it to G-Code. You might have to touch it up in a photo editor, or paint the item to get what you want. |

| Hi Bernie, I have Solidworks, Alibre Design, and Virtual Gibbs. Send me the DXF and I'll see what I can do. Let me know what size rough stock you use, what tool type and size, depth of cut, and step-over you want and I'll have Gibbs make all the roughing and finishing passes you want. rsmachine@msn.com Sean |
