Newby to CNC programing

hi all.

im a first yr apprentis doing mechanical/electrical..
my work has started teaching me NC..

now im after some computer editers / simulators for my computer so i can have a play around with codes befor i try them on the real machine..

the computer simulator at work os very very limited in its coding. things like splines, rotations, cutter compisations cant be done on it..

what programs would you recomend me to get? (i think im using the ISO code, if thats means anything?)


also how dificult is it to convert dxf files into Nc files?
