I wish to use existing .ai and .eps files I have from my sign making business on CD. My son is running the business in Ohio and I'm in NC. He doesn't have internet capabilities. Anyone have a nice easy method using AutoCad or Adobe Illustrator to make a good .dxf and then possibly into Ace? Thanks. Mike |

| I've used this before to convert .eps (and .pdf) to .dxf. It's a bit tricky to figure it out, but it works OK, and it's free. Use GS View, which is a graphical front end for Ghostscript, and PSTOEDIT does the actual conversion. http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/ Download and install Ghostscipt, here ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors...1/gs851w32.exe Then install GS View, here ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors...m/gsv47w32.exe And finally, pstoedit, here http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/s...itsetup342.exe Once setup, it's simple a matter of clicking on the Edit menu, and "convert to vector".

| Hi Mike, Have you looked at VCarve Wizard? This software will import eps, ai, dxf and pdf files and very quickly and easily convert the designs to G-Code + many more cnc file formats. VCW includes toolpath strategies for vcarving, engraving, profile cut-outs, pocketing + A Fully Working Trial Version can be downloaded from the link below and this lets you save the toolpath files for the sample designs provided, so you can cut them on your own machine. http://www.vectric.com/index.php?download (shame your son doesn't have internet access) Hope this might be interesting and helpful? Regards, Tony Mac |
