Is there a command to make the machine ignore all Z values starting at a certain place in a 3d file? I want the Z to stay at the last specified value without having to go through and manually remove all the Zs. |

| You may have already run this job, but here's something for future reference: depending on your machine/control there may be a Z axis inhibit button on your machine op panel. Do a program restart at the block before you want to turn off your Z, and press the button. I you do not have a button on your control panel, you could also locate the PLC device for the z axis inhibit and force it high (need to be able to access your plc I/F) after getting to your program start point. Some controls also offer a G10 that not only writes parameters, but also can write to PLC registers. Just some things to try if you ever find yourself in the same situation. |
