So, I generated some code through Esprit and I was running some test pieces and I was watching the tapping cycle and it was running perfectly. I glanced at the program and noticed that in the place of the feedrate there was an E102 argument in place of F. This is an M1.2X.25mm tap and if my math and logic are correct: .25pitch = .0098425 inches 1 inch / .0098425 = 101.6 TPI. I'm guessing that the E argument is a TPI value. Has anyone heard of this? All searching through various programming manuals have yielded no info. |

| On several machine controllers this is settable by parameter, I've seen it where if you're in inches E would equal the threads per inch. If you're in metric it would equal the pitch. It's really convenient when you can enter 28 for 28 TPI |
