Talking making Gears with 3 axis cnc

hi all,

i need/want to make a couple of gears (big tooth small dia) so i can make a HP gear pump, the machine can do it i dont doubt and autocad can draw it so thats no problem, what i need is some way of inputting the right tooth form into autocad. I only need a two dimensional representation as i plan to cut out the gears i need from plate.
Thanks in advance.

Nick

ok had a play with those programs, unfortunatly one runs in dos which my XP machine doesnt like and the other is not compatable with my very old version of autocad (R14) so its back to the drawing board :-(

FeatureCam has a great little pull down for gears. If you supply the required information I’ll send you the profile in a R14 dwg file.

very kind of you, i basically want a large toothed gear of relatively small diameter im thinking about 20mm dia with just perhaps 6 teeth. the reason for this is i want to make a gear pump. I did find a natty little LSP for gears on the web called GEAR.LSP but it will only let me do a minimum of 14 teeth at that size, which i guess will still work but perhaps at a lesser volume per given speed.
The Spindle size would be a convenient at 6-10mm, pressure angle etc is not critical as its job is to pump.
thanks again
