G54 - G59 allow you to work on 6 parts on the table at a time, each with thier own zero point. Lets say you have 3 double vises mounted on your machine. Store the distance from machine zero to the zero on the upper-left part in G54, and the lower left part in G55, the upper middle part in G56, lower middle G57, upper right G58, lower right G59. These values are usually negative numbers (from machine zero to part zero).
Now when you want to drill a hole at X1, Y1. in the upper-left part, then a hole at X3. Y2. in the lower-left part, program
G81 G54 X1. Y1. Z-0.5 R0.1 F20. (DRILL HOLE IN PART 1)
G55 X3. Y2. (DRILL HOLE IN PART 2)
Hope this helps. |
