Machine Face + OD, Flip part around, face to length and machine the rest. I have been wondering how do you guys program and set-up this flip part around thing using the same work shift. I found some difficulties, I figure that if the part projection is the same on both sides it will work with the Z0.0 but when one side sticks out more than the other it won’t work. Any inputs please |

| hum!!! Yes a lathe, fanuc... That could work yes indeed but I'm afraid that system would create some difficulties to some of the operators. Any ideas on how to using a imaginary work shift on the lathe? Thanks |

| Both are good ideas, Using G54 and G55 is not an option; my machines [Nakamura-tome fanuc] do not have that option, only one work shift… for what I know. I was wondering that I could create some sort of an imaginary work shift, like a macro location. Any ideas? Thanks |

| As I look through the 21T-B manual, I can't find a command for setting the Work Shift. Could be I was mistaken about that. Let's try the User Macro route. Just for the heck of it, try this command in MDI: #2601=9.9999 See if the Work Shift value changes to 9.9999, or if you get an alarm. |

Dcoupar, looks like I got it to work, with your help of course.. I went to this Fanuc 18-T MDI / #2601=9.999 / start and the Z value on the work shift changed to 9.9990 So I can use this User Macro route to flip parts around and etc.. Nice going Dcoupar Thanks Have a good weekend |
