Hi all, I am doing a PhD on the loss of information due to imperfect mappings/conversions between dissimilar data structures. I am not an experienced CNC machinist, but I am interested in finding a practical use case. I am intrigued by the DXF-to-Gcode conversion process. Has anyone of you guys witnessed G code execution (milling or turning) that resulted in imperfect rendering of the original DXF? If so, do you think that a possible cause would be the actual conversion effected by the CAM software? Your experience and advice is invaluable to me. Thanks! |
