I a question about this G67 command.. let me explain a bit on my setup..
On the items I'm making, the OD needs to be exactly .703. So I basically set my tool right on the outside work piece.. and make a few passes to get from .750 down close to .703. I then use my dial caliper to measure the OD after every pass to determine the OD then I cut in to get the final .703 Now that I have the OD setup perfect.. the rest of the decorative cuts do not need to be exact, its just the OD that needs to be perfect. The total length is 6.5"
I then setup the axis like this.. Z-0 is at the chuck and then X-0 is right at the OD of the work piece and backed out just enough so it doesn't mark the work piece when moving .
Now this said.. I'm not sure how to setup the G67 because I use the OD as my 0 not the centerline of the workpiece.
here is the G76 as the example i was given..
G76 X-0.210 Z-1.25 K.040 D0.010 F0.050 A60
Here is what I understand so far. I would need to start approx 1/2" away from the end of the work piece.. which the position would show 7".. my gcode would be this (as far as I understand I filled in my numbers I left ??? for what I don't know)
G76 X???? Z5. K???? D0.040 F0.050 A60
I don't know WHAT and WHY my K & X numbers would be. Can someone help fill in the blanks. |
