Spindle positioning M19

I bought a used vertical lathe Hitachi Seiki with Fanuc 20l.
I have a problem with the c-axis programming.
When I enter M19 in MDI spindle is placed in position, but I do not know how to after choose another position - 90 °.
I tried the M19 c90
M19 C = 90
M19 S90 ,....
but nothing happens.

Does anyone can tell me how to positioning spindle to 90 ° or to some other position.

Thanks!

Not sure if it's the same on your Hitachi Seiki, but on a Doosan it's G97 S900 M19 to position the spindle at 90 degrees. G97 S1800 M19 would be 180 degrees.

This assumes you have the spindle positioning option.

Try this, I think it should work if I remember it right:

M19 to engage
M300=0deg
M390=90deg
M480=180deg
etc...

And I believe you can only index 5deg increment.

Thank you for your proposed solution.
I tried everything, but does not place the spindle in the desired position.
The only thing that works is that the spindle is placed in position in the order of M19 and there holds.

I don't know the Hitachi, but in general the folowing applies:

M19 is used to reference the spindle - not the C axis.

In spindle mode - M19 sends the spindle to 0.

In C axis mode - M19 does nothing, but G1 C90 F? will move it.

Are you just trying to orient the spindle with M19 or are you actually trying to do some machining on the part using c axis? Here is a simple center drilling operation using c axis for your reference if this is what you are trying to do. This is for a Mori with Fanuc control but maybe it'll work on your Hitachi.

MojsterMiha,

Did you have decimal point after the degree like C90.0? it will made a big difference.
