    Default G-Code Video Training

    Hello All,

I'm working on a new video training course to teach G-Code programming. Can anyone recommend any cool tools that your using for programming. Looking for things like...
    ... Trig Calculators
    ... DNC programs.
    ... NC Code simulators.
    ... Editors.

    Thanks,

    Mike Mattera

    Mike Mattera:

Is Pathtrace the company that designed and manufactures edgeCAM or simply a distributor? Is edgeCAM a company? Who do you work for?

Trig --- the user needs to learn the basics. For doing calculations use an RPN (HP) calculator. A new one is now available, 35S.
See http://www.cnczone.com/vb...d.php?p=785473 as a related subject.

DNC --- Drip feed. Try to teach the basics of how and why this operation works and is needed.

DNC --- File transfer. There is a great amount of mis-information relating to RS232 communication. Again teach the basics.

Provide a good discussion on what constitutes the actual position of the tool center. Partially it is G5x + G52 + programmed point + cutter comp and on HAAS a hidden value for startup temp compensation.
