Default I need some gcode help

I added a diode laser to my router. Using m7 and m9 to turn on and off my laser with a relay. My problem is the lag between the laser firing and the machine moving and turning the laser off after the cut. It's causing it to scorch the start and stop. Any help would be apreciated.

Is it really a lag or just acceleration/deceleration?

I think you want to use M10/M11.
