Default Macro progam to prevent machine crashes

I run and teach on a number of different Haas machines. Most frequently we run the students on Mini-mills for a variety of introductory classes. Naturally, a long term issue I have is damage to the vises that we use, both on the jaws as well as the body. I've recently gotten into macro-programming and am starting to write some of my own; I'm currently working on a WIPS probing macro that gathers a bunch of reference points on the vise being used. Next I intend on writing a second macro that takes the current machine position and verifies that the machine tools do not run through the vise based on the reference points gathered via my first macro.

My question to you macro gurus is about the current machine coordinates. I've had a lot of trouble finding manuals that have a specific list of settings for Haas and/or fanuc, but I know that #5021-5023 are current machine coordinates for x,y and z. I want to know if there are specific settings for simulated coordinates or whether or not the machine coordinate settings actually change simulation as the simulation progresses.

Any extra tips or advice for a beginner to macros is also appreciated!

There are no specific macros for simulated machine position. The macros do update as you run a simulation, so they are simulated (as your machine has not actually moved), and will re-update when you exit graphics.

You can download the Haas manuals here: https://diy.haascnc.com/user-guide#gsc.tab=0 All of the macros are listed in the manual.
