    Hey Thanx!
I'm as green as grass to CNC, but the "CNC SIMULATOR" as recommended has gone a long way in enhancing my understanding and interest in machine control and G code.
    Thanks again.

I note that the last message was in 2007 and the link to cncsimulator seems to have been moved, has this activity moved somewhere else.

    Regards

Default partial alternate site for CNCSimulator

There seems to be a partial site at www.cnc-simulator.com, but I've only been able to get the first three files listed, the first two are local to this site, and the rest still point to the site that doesn't have the hyphen.

I also seem to have the CuttingDataPlugin.mpl plug-in that I had downloaded in May.

Hmmmmm, If I were a sneaky rat Ba$tard, I'd make a site that was very similar in name, and load up infected files on it, espec. the EXEs.

Not saying that is what happening, but I'd be careful about any site that is so similar in name, have almost the same look, but have files listed with different domain names......

Tartan5, old post I know, but they stake out the similar names because Google ranks sites where the keywords are in the name MUCH higher in the search results.

Hence if they want a lot of search traffic for "cnc simulator", they will want to lock down every variation of those words with domains that all lead to more or less the same content.

Just one of many ways businesses game Google.

BTW, for those interested in a g-code tutorial built around a simulator, I'm slowing putting one together on CNCCookbook:

    CNCCookbook's G-Code Tutorial and Course

The G-Wizard Editor is free during beta, which should be a good long while yet. Certainly long enough for me to finish the course, LOL.

Here is the CNC Simulator itself if you want to bypass the tutorial:

    Cheers,

I know I'm awakening a very old thread here but this comes up in Google.

You simply have the view rotated. You can fix this simply by holding down the left-mouse button and dragging.

Edit: on second thought you seem to have the workpiece positioned incorrectly relative to the tool path. Try changing the workpiece z-offset.

CIMCO only works for free for 30-days. CAMotics (previously OpenSCAM) is always free and Open-Source. CAMotics works on Windows, OSX & Linux. CIMCO only runs on Windows. CIMCO does do some things CAMotics cannot but you should try CAMotics first since its free and easy to use.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. If you are still using OpenSCAM you should try the latest version of CAMotics. CAMotics There have been a lot of improvements.
