    Ads by Google threads?

What's the deal with the locked "Ads by Google" threads that seem to sprout up daily in each section here on CNCZone?

I think he's talking about those large text ads that appear to be threads, but aren't??

Yep - there is a thread with a title like "Ads by Google" in each of the several sections I visit here. It seems like a new one appears daily and they are always locked. I won't go into more details unless you want them since the "fake" messages should be easy to find.

    I've seen the ads.

No big deal, most of them show up the 4th post down from the top of each forum/thread.

If it was me I would leave them, I don't mind text ads on sites, the only ads I don't like are flashing in your face banner ads, & I've never had that here on cnczone.

I don't think that most folks realize the cost/time it takes to keep a website running smooth.

CncAdmin, keep up the good work.

Also those ads link to your profile, with the user name "Sponsor".

Depends on leaving them. If they aren't paying fees for these ads, I'd yank them and file a complaint. If they are money makers for the site, more power to em. I don't bother clicking on such things.

A webmaster makes money with google ads by page impressions, not only clicks.

Google is better about not allowing bad guys hijacking scripts like the old days. I'm sure it can still be done, for every fix someone is waiting to crack it.

All you have to do is view/source, scroll to the bottom, compare the Google user ID, to see If it's your user ID, or not.
