    This is becoming very irritating

    Hi,

I spent an hour and a half crafting a technical post. I put a lot of time in what I write. I hit the post button and I got some BS error message saying something about some missing token or some such thing. Needless to say my post disappeared along with the 90 minutes invested in writing it. CNCzone has become more and more unreliable in the recent months. I will not bother to reconstitute what I wrote. It's a shame because it was a major post and would have been helpful to a lot of people.

    I thought that got fixed.
It has happened to me on occasion, I found that pressing the back button and then reload, it is there.
But what I would suggest is that any long post be typed up in Wordpad or other, and then cut and pasted, if it doesn't post, you haven't lost it.

    Al,

No big thing. It irritated the living Kapok out of me when it happened but as with all such things, it quickly got put into perspective. You and everyone associated with CNCzone run an absolutely terrific website and my hat is off to you for all that you do. Part of my irritation was I knew better, I should have copied to clipboard but I didn't. Instead of kicking myself, I kicked you. Please accept my apologies; not nice on my part.:-)

The cookies on the site time out after about 90 mins so I can see why that would happend, the cookies are based on activity, if you stay on one page to long your session times out.

    The Slickster

That is just flat rude SLickster and offers nothing to this thread or forum.

Not much thought or time need go into a six word, of which most are single syllable, post.

    Oh.

I have had the same problem as Mariss, and just put it down to my IPS fouling something up during the upload. I started practicing both Al's and Slickster's suggesstions.

I have had the same thing happen when I post something far less important than a Mariss post.
I will have to go gather links or deal with other things and then come back to the post. Once i finally hit the post button, I am doomed. Now the back button in Firefox seems to keep the post for me. Otherwise, I am like Mariss was initially. To kapok with it.

Youse guys throwing the word kapok around should be careful, you might be accused of blasphemy:

The kapok tree has long been considered sacred by the indigenous peoples of America. The Mayans believe that the kapok, which they call ceiba, (pronounced say-bah) is the tree of life whose roots extend to the underworld and whose branches hold up the heavens.

Actually, I confused the word with the movie, "KPAX". I think thats what it was. Now I am uncertain. Been awhile since I saw it. It's about a guy from another world supposedly. Another world is where I'd wish all my grief and anger to go.
The French saying for "Such is life" applies often when bursts happen.
I find that the internet and mishaps or interruption of it causes my most obscene gesture's and 4 letter words, depending on whether the wife is in the room or not.
