Red face What's the new stuff all about? (Forum related)

Stupid question time.

What's with the "Digg This" and "Stumble This" stuff at the bottom of each thread? What are all those things, how are they used and what the heck are they for?

And what's with the "permalink" thing at the header of each post?

Technically incompetent and fashionably inadequate,
Scott

Geof will become famous soon enough

Additional sources of revenue?

Don't begrudge the site-owner this.

UH no..... (BTW how would you like me to pay for the site to keep it operating?) they are "Social Bookmarking of Threads" buttons.

There is a thread of all the new features- http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249460

I read mxtras question as just a question and not a comment. A pretty good question too (in my humble opinion since I had the same one but didn't ask )

Now I'll have to make myself go look at these feature updates.

And try to remember to click on more advertiser's links. We don't want to lose the zone!

BTW, any chance we might see more of the standard smilies for use inside a post w/o having to click more and expand the window, etc.? I like the ones across the bottom, but they're for the whole post (I think.) Maybe swap a wink for wrong forum or something.

I do not know Paul (Site Owner) personally, so do not take this as a plug, but I have contributed to this site from day one through a voluntary annual donation. I like it here, it's useful and it's a good, well-rounded environment.

I will continue to do my part by contributing to help keep the zone afloat.

Speaking of which - what happened to the "Site Supporter" or "Contributor" tag by each posters name??
