    Zone Search Engine Logic Query

    Hi

The zone search engine does not any return results for 'G52'.

I started this post because I couldn't find it

    G52 Used For Patterning

but if you do a google search as Switcher has shown

    http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=e...e+Search&meta=

The engine will find 'Mach2' but wont find 'G52', 'G3', 'G1'.

Am I using the search incorrectly?

If not can someone please check the logic in the search engine that is causing these strings to not be found.

    Thanks

    Derek

In your post you used single quotes, is that what you used in the search?
All search engines recognize double quotes as a means of designating and forcing a boolean AND logic condition, the single quotes would be looked for as an exact character match - an unlikely found condition!

    Curioser and curioser.

I took Eric's comments and searched 'G52'. This found one thread, this one! So on the search results page I clicked on the link to this thread and the system denied me access from that direction.

    Hi Eric

No I didn't use the single quotes just G52. I think I tried "G52" as well (actually using the double quotes) and also returned nothing. I'll check now.

    Cheers

I would also like to suggest that your searching results my be affected by which ever language your computer is set up for, as this also modifies the character map used by your computer to interface with the world!

I'll show you a little trick on how to get more results from a specific site like "cnczone" with the help of Google. I have 3 parts to my search:

    1) G52 = (search subject)

    2) site: = (tell Google to only search a specific site, & nothing else on the web)

    3) www.cnczone.com = (whatever specific website I want to do my search on)

Now I add all 3 to create my search " G52 site:www.cnczone.com " enter this in the Google search.

    That will return this, http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...ecnczone%2ecom

You can do this on any website on the net, just change the site name.

Just remember that only pages that have been crawled by Google will end up in your search results, like this post wouldn't be returned just after I post (hasn't been crawled since my posting) might take a day or two, or a few min. you never know.

No offense to the cnczone search engine (or any other search engine).

NO search engine can hang with Google!

True but surely the CNCzone internal search should find terms such as G52. I have tried a few terms and it seems to not find terms with fewer than four characters. As someone mentioned it finds mach2.

In addition how come when I do a search and then try to use the search results to link to the page that is found it denies me access?
