Question Posting not showing up on "New Posts" list

For some time I have been posting in various sections and it appears right away in the "Today's Post" list, but does not show up in the "New Post's" list.

Today I posted at 5:09 PM and it showed up right away in the "Today's Post's" it did not show up in the "New Post's" list.

At 5:15 PM today three people posted and theirs showed up on the "Today's Post's" as did mine. And theirs showed up on the "New Post's" list and mine did not, even though I posted 6 min earlier.

Don't understand, did I make someone mad? Or is there something I need to configure to have my postings show up on the "New Post's" list.

    Thanks

    Hager

Hager - I've noticed the same, and I came to the conclusion that the site doesn't show your own posts in the "new posts".
Also if I go to new posts after I've visited Quick Links, posts I've just read aren't there, so I assume changing page has immediately updated the New Posts to take account that I've already read them.

The thing that bugs me is finding posts that haven't changed since I last visited New Posts, but didn't read, are sometimes added under a bold text line.
I can't see any consistency in what it does, nor any need for it anyway.

Enjoy today's problems, for tomorrow's may be worse.

I think that it doesn't show up in the "New Posts" because you've already seen it, right after you posted it. New posts are "unread" posts.

If I open and "read" the top posting, then close it it is still at displayed at the top of the list, it does not go away. So I don't understand your thinking that "you've already seen it" so you won't see it again.

My postings used to appear in the "New Post" list.

    Still confused.

It goes away when you click "New Posts", doesn't it? Same thing. When I click on New Posts, it only lists posts I haven't seen. Since you've already seen your post, it won't show up in the New Posts. That's how it appears to work to me.

You are talking about two different things.

    1. If I open up a post, close it and get out of the CNC Zone then back in, the same posting that I looked at before is still there it doesn't go away. Don't mind if it goes away or not.

    2. What I am wondering is why dont my postings show up in the "New Post" list? And they used to.

    3. You say "When I click on New Posts, it only lists posts I haven't seen." I have NEVER seen this situation.

I believe "New posts" should be called "Unread Posts". That's the way it appears to work for me. Does that make more sense?

Answer to number3: It lists threads that I've seen before, as long as those threads contain new posts. When you click on new posts, every thread should be in bold. And every one of those threads should contain a post you haven't seen.

"When you click on new posts, every thread should be in bold."
This is true, they are always bold. No other type of font style.

"And every one of those threads should contain a post you haven't seen"
This is not true. If I open three, get out of CNCZone, then get back in, the same three are still there.

    Confused???

It is true right after you click New Posts. That's why they are bold.

How do you "get out of CNC Zone, then get back in" to the new posts without clicking New Posts.

Also, do you have cookies turned off for the site?

Is it possible to be logged in without cookies enabled?

"New post" will not show up unless your logged in.

    Ger21, I think it's like you said:

I think that it doesn't show up in the "New Posts" because you've already seen it, right after you posted it. New posts are "unread" posts.
Although, vBulletin is a little strange at times.

    Spamming? OK I give up.

I won't ask any more questions about the system operation to try and understand it and why it doesn't function like it used to.
