I received this message through the forum in my private email - I have received this kind of email in other guises in private emails and they are all a known con trick - This post is intended to warn members of this site ,to be aware.

If I am incorrect about this message then I will appologise to sandraben who is a chip sweeper who joined the forum Nov06 currently with no posts.

(URGENT ASSISTANCE NEEDED)


Dear Sir,

Good thing to write you. I have a proposal for you.This however is not mandatory nor will I in any manner compel you to honour against your will.

I am Miss Sandra Benjamin, the only daughter of my late parents Mr.and Mrs Benjamin.
My father was a highly reputable busnness magnet-(a Cocoa Merchant, Diamond and Gold Dealer)who operated in the capital of Ivory coast during his days. It is sad to say that he passed away mysteriously in France during one of his business trips abroad on 2nd March 2005.Though his sudden death was linked or rather suspected to have been masterminded by an uncle of his who travelled with him at that time. But God knows the truth! My mother died when I was just 4 years old,and since then my father took me so special.

Before his death on 2nd March 2005 he called the secretary who accompanied him to the hospital and told him that he has the sum of Fourteen Million,Seven hundred thousand United State Dollars.(USD$14.7000) deposited in a bank here in my country.

He further told him that he deposited the fund with my name as the next of kin,and he registered the fund as family valuables and finally issued a written instruction to his lawyer whom he said is in possession to handle all the necessary legal documents of the fund which he deposited in bank and he instructed the lawyer to hand over the doucments to me whenever I need it.

I am a university undergraduate and really don't know what to do.
Now I want a foreign partner who will assist me to transfer this fund from the bank here to his personal account for a real investment popose..
This is because I have suffered a lot of set backs as a result of incessant political crisis here in Ivory coast.The death of my father actually brought sorrow to my life.I am in a sincere desire of your humble assistance in this regards.
Your suggestions and ideas will be highly regarded.

Now permit me to ask these few questions:-
1.Can you kindly tell me the type of a profitable venture this fund will use to invest avoid waste of it.
2). Can you honestly help me as your daughter?
3). Can I completely trust you?
4). What percentage of the total amount in question will be good for you after you have collected this fund on my behalf?
Please,consider this and get back to me as soon as possible with your telephone number for oral disscussion and keep it highly confidential with yourself.

I got the same message and forwarded it to CNCadmin. Im just happy to know Im not the only one. The mention of bank transfer had me thinking drug money in some dark shady bank account!

This is a 'Nigerian Letter'. I know it comes from the Ivory Coast but this type of letter started years ago and was almost always from Nigeria. Back in the old days of fax machines before email Nigerian Letters would arrive by fax. The astounding thing is that some people get sucked in and lose huge sums of money to these things.

These letters are a laugh, there will ALWAYS be a bank charge or fee you have to pay to get the (insert percentage of large sum of money here).

Its more funny the more you think of it, if she/he whatever has so much money why do they need your help to "free" up the funds. I know most bank managers around here would bend over backwards to help you "invest" with them some or all of your loot, so long as it existed.

I usually reply by asking if they still get anybody with this scam and suggest maybe updating their material, possibly something more reputable like stealing kidneys or likewise.

Can't blame thieves for trying, they are what they are, though some really suck at it...

Thats true Russell. But I thought it was some illegal bank account full of drug money in Ireland and they were trying to get some idiot to transfer their cash offshore. I never got one of them before, and that was before I realised that others had got one. Oh well.

So how exactly do they make money out of this plot? You reply to their e-mail address and then what?
