How to post pictures?

I've noticed that in most of the threads the pictures are in an area labeled 'attached thumbnails', and when they are clicked they open in a popup window with a black background.

My pictures take the reader to the photo gallery.

How do I use the other method of displaying pictures?

When you post or reply, use the "Go Advanced" option, and click "Manage Attachments", then add your photos.

Okay, I didn't see a 'Go Advanced' option, but I do see an 'Additional Options' pane that has a 'Manage Attachments' button.
