It's probably me, but when I search for something I only get sent to a list of posts. It would take hours to open them all looking for the one or ones that mention what I'm looking for. I'd like to be able to type "belt", for example, and have a list of posts containing the word "belt". What am I doing wrong? Over |

| I sympathise. I've asked about being able to do a boolean search, but that doesn't seem to be possible. The advanced search seems to be aimed at knowing who your looking for, rather than facts. I noticed that one recent search separated two words with an asterisk * , (threaded*rod) and that produced the double words in the reported posts. I tried it, but it didn't work for me. Sometimes the results don't highlight the searched for word either. If you type two words the search engine gives you twice as many results, no matter what method of linking them I try. If anyone has special knowledge of the search engine, I'd be grateful to be let in on the secret. Opening 219 posts is no joke for a newbie. |
