Default Age Old Problem..Site Now Super Slow To Access

This site has always performed perfectly but now it's a challenge to get it to open. It will take almost 30 seconds to access and open. Opening pictures in threads takes the same amount of time. I have done nothing new on this end. I have tried it with Ad-Block enabled and disabled..not difference. I have scanned my computer, booted my computer and pulled my hair out. Don't know what else to do. All other sites perform perfectly. The Zone started acting up about 2 weeks ago and hasn't changed. Stuart

Yes; I've noticed this too. For the last couple of days, it's been excruciating. Forever to open a post, then when I wrote a "quick" reply, I got a long wait, then the "leave or stay" message. When I chose "leave", it didn't post my reply. This is no fun - fix it soon or nobody but the most patient people (not me) will bother dealing with this site at all.

Odd. Fast response for me in Oz. I suspect NOT the site.

    Cheers

Interesting, it's been the slowest forum I've visited for some time. Also in Oz.

Hit "New Posts" button usually takes 20 seconds or so. There's typically a 5 second delay before a page loads. Once a page has started to come down it's pretty fast.

Other forums are pretty much instant when I hit the button, 100Mbps link etc.

Well...I just happen to have my handy-dandy digital stopwatch at hand, and from the time I hit 'reply to thread' till the box loaded and was ready for a reply was exactly 33.16 seconds. That's darn near snail mail speed.

Some coder in the Hinterland has been messing with things again. Doubt we'll ever hear the rest of the story but I sure hope it gets repaired..sort of a drag to try to post with all these gremlins.

I'll keep troubleshooting at my end but I''m doubtful that I've done anything wrong. Famous last words, right!

    Stuart

P.S. From the command 'post reply' until the above post was loaded was a whopping 1 min and 5.03 seconds.

Mine's not that bad but it's been orrible for a while now and of late seems to be getting worse.

ps hah. Posting that was instantaneous. The edit took 10s to load, better than it has been but still pretty rubbish compared to practically every single other site I visit.

Wow...right this moment things seem to be back to warp speed, for me anyway. Thank you CNC Zone!

Read up on 'buffer bloat'. Many times it is not the web site which is the problem; rather it can be the network.
I don't know what is happening for some, but if others are getting good speed, that suggests the web site is (nearly) OK.

    Cheers

Don't know about 'buffer bloat' but I'm happier than a clam at high tide. The site is ripping right along just like before. I was going to blame it on toasted fiber optic lines running through Santa Rosa, CA, but if things were also sketchy in 'OZ' then we can't blame the fire.
