Thank you Al.
Can't something be done about these spammers that can't be banned because they "Guests"
All I have done today is delete posts from these turkeys.
Getting to be a pain in the butt.

Thank you Al.
I've been a guest several times but never made a post, I assumed you had to be a member to post! Maybe member only posting would help?
member only posting should fix this problem.
Good Morning Al & Company:
To my knowledge, one may only post if they are a registered member.
You are correct that there is a lot of "spammers." I have reported this to the developers and suggested that they fix the "captcha" to prevent robots from adding accounts for spam.
I killed off 140 account yesterday alone.
I'll report back once the developers work their magic.
Thanks,
Mike
Mike,
Somehow "Guest" posters are able to post here. We've been plagued by this problem on and off for years. Paul tried to say this had something to do with the integration between this forum and the Industry Arena forum allowing members of either forum to be able to post on the other. Sounded like a bit of nonsense to me, but that was one of the excuses we got previously.
All I know is it causes problems for us mods when we try to ban them for spamming.

We had this problem on a totally different web site I moderate, after the dark-web spamming SW had been updated to handle many Captchas. I was deleting >50 spammers a day - mostly selling cheap Chinese Nike imitations. Very reluctantly, we imposed a $5 registration fee. Some moans but it solved the problem instantly.
Cheers

I'm a moderator on another forum, and what we did was just not allow guests to post at all. Also each prospective member is screened by an actual human volunteer to confirm that they are actually legit. Has pretty much eliminated any spammers, if one does slip through, they are shut down quickly by the mod staff.
Sadly, as Jim suggests, human screening may be needed.
Cheers
Roger
That is the way it is supposed to be here too. New members have the first post or two moderated and need approval before the post becomes visible to the community. Guests are not supposed to be allowed to post, but somehow and for some reason, they are being allowed to post.
