S l o w here. Sloth speed. It's probably some Russian conspiracy against the zone (sarcasm).
It's doing rocket speed here. No complaints at all.
You can buy GOOD PARTS or you can buy CHEAP PARTS, but you can't buy GOOD CHEAP PARTS.
been slow for me for the entire time i've been on this forum. maybe 2 months? why is this relevant to the tormach section?
Been terribly slow for a long time now.

It has not been a problem for me. It is sometimes slow, but it has always been that way. 90+% of the time it works just fine.

For the last two months, it has been terribly slow. At least 30 seconds to load any page.
Prior to that, for me, it has never been slow at all, for the last 13 years.
I now browse this forum differently, opening threads in new tabs, because it takes too long to go back. So I open 4-5 threads at a time.

It isn't specifically relevant to this forum, but a question to forum management went unanswered for a couple weeks or more so I thought I'd ask here.
Does anybody have an idea (ger21?) why the forum seems to be slow for some and not for others? I'm on a Comcast/Infinity line and my speed tests run uniformly fast and I don't have any issues with any of the other sites or forums I visit so my problem seems to be specific to CNC-Zone. It's now at the point where page loads take longer than reading threads does.
I have almost never seen that kind of lag, except when the site has completely crashed. Perhaps once or twice a week it might take 20 seconds to refresh the page or open a thread, but the problem never lasts more than a few minutes, if that. And I'm not even on a terribly fast connection (~6Mbps DSL line), and I see the same problem on other sites, which makes me think myu problem is likely with my ISP. That all suggests the problem is not with the CNCZone site itself, as that would affect everyone in more or less the same way.
FWIW - I'm running Win10 64-bit and Chrome.
Regards,
Ray L.
I don't think so. I sent a PM about a month ago, but never heard from them. They are very hard to get in touch with.Do you know if forum management knows about the issue and, especially, if they plan to do anything about it?
I only see it on CNC Zone. Every day for the last ~2 months. 3 different PC's. Fast Comcast at home (100+Mbps). Medium Comcast at work (50Mbps). And various hotel wifi connections.I see the same problem on other sites, which makes me think myu problem is likely with my ISP. That all suggests the problem is not with the CNCZone site itself,
Exact same speed regardless of PC or connection.
2 PC's have Windows 10 Pro, 1 with Windows 7 Pro.
Firefox on all 3. With and without ad blocker.
I just tried Edge in Windows 10 and it was the same.
Again, it's CNC Zone only.

About 2 months here of high lag as well. I thought it might be due to all those timely ads I see popping up promoting SprutCam Version 7 (now on 10) and the <$5k Tormach 440 (does that package even exist). Seriously though I have popped in on Linux machines, windows machines and my smart phone over the last few months and they have all been painfully slow. The log-in script that one sees on the main page takes almost 30 seconds to load. I appreciate the multi-tabs tip that will help.
I run AdBlock, so I don't get the ads. I would not be at all surprised if what you're seeing is the load time of the ads. There are sooooo many of them....
Just for grins, I turned off AdBlock. Page load times at least tripled...
Regards,
Ray L.
I also use an adblocker, and no difference with it on or off.I run AdBlock, so I don't get the ads. I would not be at all surprised if what you're seeing is the load time of the ads. There are sooooo many of them....
Different Ad Blockers on different PC's, and they made no difference.

The page load times have become awful on this site for me as well..... Most pages take about a minute to load which makes visiting here almost impossible.

Its really slow here as well.

How many are aware that cnczone was sold . IndustryArena takes over CNCzone - aBr Move
All posts here are also posted on German site industryarena at the same time.
I ran a test and loaded industryarena site
https://en.industryarena.com/forum/5...r--320472.html Load time 1 second
Then loaded cnczone site for same post
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/genera...20472-cnc.html
load time 10 seconds
Zone tech support finally got back to me and said that they were looking at the speed problem. I tried disabling the Ad Blocker extension I use here and that didn't seem to make much difference yesterday, although today seems better.
Traffic in metalworking forums I read usually picks up in the fall when folks are spending more time indoors but it seems to have slacked off here. Maybe those members with speed problems are turned off by the slow response time and turning elsewhere. That can't be good for ad revenue here.
