| Alright I am very new to the foam cutting world, so forgive me if i am missing an elementary step. Am doing some work cutting from DXF files. I run them through CadWorks to get the DAT files for generating the CT1 cut files. BUt somewhere in the process the dimensions of the cuts changes. for example if I want a circle to be cut, no taper, with the same DAT file for both tower. And the original DXF is a 2 in Diameter, when creating the cut file I use the "calculated horiz distance" of 2 in.. Is that correct? Because it will only cut an approx 3/4in diameter circle. But on the other had I did a 2 in square and it worked correctly? I need some constructive help here! Thanks in advance! Philip |

| Check your FoamWorks setup. It should match the Motor steps per turn multiplied by the number of turns per inch of your X, Y travel. For 200 steps per turn motor, using 10 micro-steps per step driver, this makes 200*10=2000 steps per turn; if you are using 5 turns per inch tread, to drive your machine X and Y travel, this represent 2000X5 10000 steps per inch of travel. Start your FoamWorks go to “Setup Machine” in the “Stepper motor options” Enter “10000 steps per inch” Then go to “Common Axis Control”, on the “X travel in inches” enter 10 inches, mark the X axis position, click forward, then measure the distance traveled, it should be 10 inches. I hope this helps. |
