Hello all, I'm on day two of reading through the Flash Cut manual and I have a quick question about program coordinates. If I start running my G-code with random trailing numbers in the x,y,z & a coordinates will it effect the accuracy of my part? E.G.... Lets say I have these remaining values ( x = 0.03, y = 0.004, z = 0.08 and A = 0.10) in my program coordinates after accepting the offset values at the completion of a seek home operation. So at this point in the job, the machine coordinates have zeroed, but the offsets values remain in the program coordinates. If I hit start on my next job w/o zeroing my program coordinates and my first line of G code is G90 (Absolute Positioning Mode) is my part going to be accurate? It would seem to me that the program coordinates and the machine coordinates would no no longer coincide and the part would be off. Correct? |

| If you are running a different job, then you would have to reset the program coordinates. If you are running the same file then the part should cut correctly. For 3-D routing operations, my program and machine 0 are never the same. This allows me to move the spindle to a manual tool change position. However, when I use Flashcut for plasma cutting, I prefer to zero the program and machine so I can select an unused protion of metal to cut from. |
