MAXNC refit with Flashcut

After 4 years of using a MAXNC to make scrap out of perfectly good blanks, I switched to a Flashcut Compact USB controller as the brain for the MAXNC donor body. Rewired the steppers and I was up and running in under two weeks (I wanted to rewire but could have ordered plug and play steppers from Flashcut). Version 4 of Flashcut is current and its a good solid utilitarian CNC CAM program and it gets the job done.

Nice error checking and fairly standard control sets in Flashcut. No surprises or strange ways of processing signals. Will only import 2D DXF for Contour coutting. Once again, it just gets the job done. I like it and the support from Don is beyond excellent.

I use trueSpace CAD to design parts or LaserExpress to do just outlines for 2D DXF. I process the g-code for 3D DXF using DeskProto 5.0 (very nice program but loses a few points for requiring a USB dongle).

Hope this helps.

Cheers
