Quick Definition of Points and Offsets | | There is a new feature that allows you to quickly copy the coordinates of your current position into Tool and Fixture Offset Tables, Reference Point Lists and Tool Change Positions. Simply jog your machine tool to the position that you want to define, then RIGHT click on appropriate coordinate system in the uppper right DRO section of the main screen. A pop-up menu will appear. Choose the type of offset or point that you want to assign to this position and another menu will appear asking for more information specific to the type of point or offset that you are defining.
For example, if you wanted to define a G54 fixture offset, Jog the machine to the exact position that you want to define as the fixture offset. (If you have a tool changer, make sure that you have the correct tool installed or that you are properly employing tool height compensation) Right Click in the middle of the Machine DRO. Choose Set Fixture Offset... From the subsequent menu, choose the Tool Offset that you want to define (In this case G54) and choose which axes you want to use or change. Hit OK and you are done! To double check if you have done it properly, you can go to Configuration... Fixture Offsets to see that the current position has been copied into the appropriate fixture offset (In this case G54). |
